RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO PURCHASE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 805 NORTH PATRICK FROM THE PROPERTY OWNER, BEAR VALLEY CHURCH OF CHRIST

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to purchase property located at 805 North Patrick Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas and owned by Bear Valley Church of Christ; and
WHEREAS, the cost for the purchase of said property is $180,000; and
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Land Bank held a regular meeting on April 11, 2023 and voted unanimously to recommend the purchase of the property located at 805 North Patrick Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council requests consideration by the Public Facilities Board (formally the Jonesboro Residential Housing and Healthcare Facilities Board) for a $180,000 contribution to purchase the property.
WHEREAS, in the event the Public Facilities Board is unable to fulfill the request, funds will be allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act for purchase of the property.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: A copy of the Letter of Intent is attached hereto.
SECTION 2: The City of Jonesboro Land bank is approved to take necessary actions to finalize contractual necessities and administrative task associated with purchase of the property.
SECTION 3: The Mayor, Harold Copenhaver, and City Clerk April Leggett, are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the acceptance of this purchase.
