RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS GRANTS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FY23 LOW OR NO EMISSION GRANT PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, applications are being accepted for the FY23 Low or No Emission Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, the FY23 Low or No Emission Grant Program will purchase five hybrid trolley style buses; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas requests $1,010,371.76 in Federal funding with a 15% local match of $178,300.90 for a total project cost of $1,188,672.66; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, AR will amend its FY2023 budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas supports the submission the FY23 Low or No Emission Grant Program for the purchase of five hybrid trolley style buses.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this application.
SECTION 3: The Grants and Community Development Department is hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to submit all necessary documents for this federal program.
