RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS GRANTS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FY23 BUSES AND BUS FACILITIES GRANT PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, applications are being accepted for the FY23 Buses and Bus Facilities Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, AR and the Jonesboro Economical Transit System (JET) propose to upgrade 50 bus stops; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, AR requests $896,000 in Federal funding with a 20% local match of $224,000 for a total project cost of $1,120,000; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, AR will amend its FY2023 budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas supports the submission of the FY23 Buses and Bus Facilities Grant application for the upgrading of 50 JET bus stops.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this application.
SECTION 3: The Grants and Community Development Department is hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to submit all necessary documents for this Federal program.
