A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO AMEND THE 2021 BUDGET TO CONTRACT THE SERVICES OF HYPER-REACH, AN EMERGENCY TEXT NOTIFICATION SERVICE.

WHEREAS, RES-20:244 adopted the 2021 budget for City of Jonesboro; and

WHEREAS, due to NIXLE being sold to another entity there is a need for text notification of emergencies, severe weather, and or important notifications for Jonesboro residents; and

WHEREAS, the different options for this service have been reviewed by E-911 Director Jeff Presley, and findings presented to the Public Safety Commission on April 20^th, 2021; and

WHEREAS, the 2021 budget for E-911 will need to be amended $12,833.44 from the city general fund. The annual cost of this service beginning in 2022 will be $22,000.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:

SECTION 1: The 2021 City of Jonesboro budget for E-911 is amended $12,833.44 to contract with Hyper-Reach for an emergency text notification system.
