RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE 2021 BUDGET TO INCLUDE GRANT FUNDING FROM THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO EXPAND RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE

WHEREAS, Resolution 20:179 authorized the Mayor and City Clerk to accept the award and enter into an agreement with the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA);
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro was awarded a grant from the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) in the amount of $2,000,000 with no local match required to expand rail infrastructure at the Craighead Technology Park; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed the 2021 budget in RES-20:244, which will need to be amended to reflect the award amount.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section1: The 2021 budget is hereby amended to include the $2,000,000 grant from the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) for the expansion of rail infrastructure at the Craighead Technology Park.
