A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO ACCEPT THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE (BJA) FOR FY 2020 BULLET PROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP GRANT

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas was awarded the 2020 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant in the amount of $21,800.00 with a local match requirement of $21,800.00 for a total award of $43,600.00.; and,
WHEREAS, the FY 2020 Bulletproof Vest Grant award may be used for National Institute of Justice (NIJ) compliant armored vests; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will purchase 43 NIJ compliant armored vests in FY2021.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas will enter into agreement with the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance to accept the 2020 Bulletproof Vest Grant for $21,800.00 for 43 NIJ Compliant armored vests.
SECTION 2: The $21,800.00 local match will come from the 2021 Police Department budget.
SECTION 3: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this application.
