A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ACCEPT THE APPORTIONMENT AND TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (FTA), FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE 2020 FTA FORMULA 5307 CARES ACT FUNDING FOR THE JONESBORO ECONOMICAL TRANSIT (JET).

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas was awarded the 2020 FTA Formula 5307 CARES Act funding in the amount of $3,277,057 in federal funds with no match; and,
WHEREAS, these funds shall be used for planning, administration and operating costs; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is considered as the recipient and the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) is considered the designated recipient for the FTA formula grant 5307 CARES Act funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section I: The City of Jonesboro will enter into an agreement with the Federal Transit Administration for the 2020 FTA Formula 5307 CARES Act funding for $3,277,057 in federal funds for planning, administration, and operating costs.
Section 2: The City of Jonesboro will submit the request for release of funds to the Federal Transit Administration.
Section 3: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
