A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF VICTIMS OF CRIME (OVC), ACCEPT THE 2020 FUNDING FROM THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF VICTIMS OF CRIME ADMINISTRATION (VOCA) ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATORS (NAVAA), AND AMEND THE 2020 BUDGET

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas was awarded the 2020 National Association of VOCA Assistance grant in the amount of $4,980.50; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas will accept the grant in the amount of $4,980.50 with no local match, as well as all accounting and reporting responsibilities for said grant; and,

 

WHEREAS, this grant will purchase items for the Victims Crime department and for the National Crime Victims’ Rights week that will take place April 19-25, 2020; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed the 2020 Budget in Resolution RES-19:201, which will need to be amended in order to reflect the award amount.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas will enter into agreement with the Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime to accept the 2020 National Association of VOCA Assistance grant for $4,980.50 for materials for the Victim Crimes Department and the National Crime Victims’ Rights week activities.
