A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ACCEPT AND TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (FTA) FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE 2019 FTA FORMULA 5307 GRANT FOR THE JONESBORO ECONOMICAL TRANSIT (JET).

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas was awarded the 2019 FTA Formula 5307 grant in the amount of $909,678 in federal funds with a local match of $580,677 for total funding of $1,490,355 ; and,
WHEREAS, these funds shall be used to expand the fleet, purchase ADP software, conduct preventive maintenance, and provide for operating assistance; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is considered as the recipient and ArDOT is considered the designated recipient for the FTA formula grant 5307.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas will enter into an agreement with the Federal Transit Administration for the 2019 FTA Formula 5307 grant for operating assistance, expansion of fleet, software and preventative maintenance.
Section 2: The City of Jonesboro will submit the request for release of funds to the Federal Transit Administration.
Section 3: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
