AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 117-139(C) OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO ZONING CODE

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas has determined that there is a need to control the expansion and placement of salvage yards inside the city limits of Jonesboro, and

WHEREAS, the placement and operation of salvage yards can create visual blight and undue noise and odor; and,

WHEREAS, any salvage yard, which can been seen along city streets, must be screened with a solid fence at least eight (8) feet in height,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the City of Jonesboro will change code section 117-139(C) to amend the schedule of uses of the zoning code to only allow salvage yards only as a conditional use in the I-2 zoning district.
