A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND ACCEPT THE 2019 JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG)

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was awarded the JAG 2019 grant in the amount of $31,139; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, as a disparate city, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Craighead County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, will accept the grant in the amount of $31,139 with no local match, as well as all accounting and reporting responsibilities for said grant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, will use said funds to purchase eight Police Vehicle Laptop and Accessories that will be compatible with the new E-Citation programs implemented.
NOW, THEREFORE LET BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, will enter into agreement with the Department of Justice to accept the 2019 JAG for the aforementioned items above in the amount of $31,139.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
