A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ARDOT) FOR THE FY 2018 TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP)- CRAIGHEAD FOREST GREENWAY TRAIL PHASE 4.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro was awarded the FY 2018 Transportation Alternative Program grant in the amount of $498,750 of which $399,000 are Federal-aid funds (80%); and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will match the Federal-aid funds with $99,750 in local funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will accept all accounting, reporting, and project responsibilities for said grant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will use said funds for the construction of the Craighead Forest Greenway Trail Phase 4 continue along Harrisburg Road to the Jonesboro Fire Station for pedestrian and bicycle use.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The Jonesboro City Council will enter into agreement with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to accept the 2018 TAP-Craighead Forest Greenway Trail Phase 4.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all necessary documents to effectuate this contractual agreement.
