A RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH AXON ENTERPRISES, INC FOR THE PURCHASE OF AXON BODY WORN CAMERAS AND SUPPORTING AXON SERVICES

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro Police Department has identified a need for body worn cameras; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has been participating in a body worn camera free trial program from Axon Enterprises; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has previously accepted in Resolution number 18:163 the Department of Justice FY 2018 Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program (BWC PIP) Grant that assists in the purchase of body-worn cameras and required competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, Axon Enterprises, Inc was selected following the competitive bidding process as outlined by the City of Jonesboro Purchasing Department; and
WHEREAS, no additional budget appropriations will be necessary for this contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION ONE: The City of Jonesboro will enter into a contract with Axon Enterprises, Inc. for the purchase of a Body-Worn Camera system and supporting services.
SECTION TWO: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
