A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGARDING THE SHARING OF DATA OBTAINED FROM GLOBAL NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEM (GNSS) CONTINUOUSLY OPERATING REFERENCE STATIONS (CORS)

WHEREAS, City of Jonesboro owns and operates a GNSS CORS, and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Department of Transportation (hereinafter called the “Department”) is building a network GNSS CORS sites that broadcast real-time corrections covering a majority of the state, and
WHEREAS, the Department desires to increase the GNSS CORS sites within its network to improve accuracy and reliability of the network, and
WHEREAS, the data from the GNSS CORS station owned by City of Jonesboro will assist the Department in achieving more complete, accurate and redundant data coverage; and
WHEREAS, this agreement involves no cost sharing or revenue sharing for either organization.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro agrees to share GNSS data with the Department, when it is available from its GNSS CORS.
Section 2. The Department agrees to share GNSS data with the City of Jonesboro, when it is available from its GNSS CORS.
Section 3. This agreement involves no cost sharing or revenue sharing for either organization and will be beneficial for both organizations.
Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
