A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF APPLICATIONS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FY 2018 BODY-WORN CAMERA POLICY AND IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM GRANT

WHEREAS, the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program announced the Fiscal Year 2018 grant funds; and,
WHEREAS, the Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program grant funds are available at 50% federal participation and 50% local match of cash or in-kind services; and,
WHEREAS, the Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program grant funds may be used for seeking to pilot, establish, or enhance Body-Worn Camera policy and implementation programs.
Now therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1: The Jonesboro City Council supports the submission of the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program for seeking to pilot, establish, or enhance Body-Worn Camera policy and implementation programs; and,
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all necessary documents to effectuate the application; and,
SECTION 3: The Grants and Community Development Department is hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to submit all necessary documents for this Federal-aid program.
