A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS ACTING ON BEHALF OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF HYDRATION STATIONS THROUGHOUT CITY PARKS

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro was awarded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sub-grant in the amount of $19,071.28 of federal funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will accept all conditions and reporting responsibilities as outlined in the said agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will use said funds for the purchase of five hydration stations, water bottles, and promotional signage to be placed in City parks; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant requires immediate approval, in order to receive funding for the grant period beginning July 1, 2018 through September 29, 2018.

Now therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

                    

SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro will enter into agreement with the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sub-grant in the amount of $19,071.28 of federal funds for the purchase of five hydration stations, water bottles, and promotional signage to be placed in City parks.

 

SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
