AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING RAISES FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS IN THE POSITIONS OF MAYOR, CITY CLERK, AND CITY ATTORNEY

Body

WHEREAS, the City Council authorized raises for all employees in 2016; and

 

WHEREAS, elected officials in the positions of Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney were not included in those raises and have not received any increase since 2015, which was a cost of living raise given to all employees; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give a pay raise to our elected officials in the positions of Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney; and

 

WHEREAS, monies needed for said increases shall come from savings from other budget line items that have leftover funds.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro authorizes a pay raise in the amount of 6% for elected officials in the positions of Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney.
