AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO AMEND THE 2017 BUDGET TO ADD THE SUB-GRANT BUDGET FOR THE 2014-2016 U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION SUB-GRANT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is currently in process of approving Resolution Number 17:101 for the execution of the 2014-2016 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention subaward which is federally funded and administered by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro passed the 2017 Budget in Ordinance Number 16:085, which will need to be amended in order to effectuate said increase to the Federal Funds budget for the 2014-2016 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention subaward, the budgeted amount will need to increase by $11,000.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

 

SECTION 1: The 2017 Budget is hereby amended to provide for an increase in the Federal Funds budget for the 2014-2016 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention subaward for $11,000.

 

SECTION 2: The City Council further finds and declares that an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the execution of said funds; due to the timeframe of said project and the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service Office has requested that all funds will be expended prior to the grant performance period ending on September 1, 2017. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
