Title A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO REQUESTING APPROVAL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CRAIGHEAD COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL AUTHORITY (CCSWDA) AS OUTLINED IN ACT 677 OF 2021
BodyWHEREAS, the Board of Directors for the CCSWDA has submitted the proposed 2023 Budget for review and approval to the Jonesboro City Council; andWHEREAS, Act 677 of 2021 by the Arkansas General Assembly entitled “An Act To Amend The Joint County and Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Act To Require That County and Municipal Members Have Budgetary Approval Authority; and For Other Purposes” reads as follows:“Within the last ninety (90) days of each calendar year, each authority shall prepare and submit an annual budget for the next calendar year to the governing body of each municipality and county that are members of the authority for review and approval by a majority of the governing bodies before the annual budget receives final approval by the authority.”NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:Section 1: That the City of Jonesboro accepts the 2023 budget as proposed from the Board of Directors of the CCSWDA.Section 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 7TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2023.
