WHEREAS, the motor seized and it is a vital piece of equipment and essential to city operations; and

WHEREAS, city staff conducted extensive research among local dealers and Greenway Equipment was the only local company to have the motor available for the needed repair due to supply disruptions; and

WHEREAS, the total cost of repairs is $42,191.15.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO THAT:

Section 1: The City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-303, and due to the immediate need to repair the equipment, does hereby waive the requirement of competitive bidding and direct the purchasing agent to authorize the $42,191.15 for the above detailed repairs.
