A RESOLUTION BY THE JONESBORO CITY COUNCIL TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF SURVEY EQUIPMENT FROM NAVIGATION ELECTRONICS, INC.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro needs to update its Trimble survey equipment to keep it under warranty; and
WHEREAS, Navigation Electronics, Inc. is the only Trimble dealer servicing Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, Navigation Electronics, Inc. quoted a new GPS Rover and software that is compatible with our existing Trimble Base Station and has agreed to take our used GPS Rover in as a trade-in with a credit of $8,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro authorizes the purchase of survey equipment from Navigation Electronics, Inc. for $24,946.16 which includes an $8,000.00 trade-in credit.
Section 2: The City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-303 hereby waive the requirement of competitive bidding and direct the purchasing agent to purchase the above-described survey equipment.
