A RESOLUTION TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF DIGITAL AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY FOR JONESBORO AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PROPOSAL WITH EFS GEOTECHNOLOGIES

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro Engineering Department and E-911 have the need for new aerial imagery for the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS; EFS GeoTechnologies is an Arkansas based provider for aerial imagery that has previously performed satisfactory work for similar projects for the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS; EFS GeoTechnologies quoted project cost of $25,000.00 is considerably below cost estimates from other providers.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C. A. Section 14-58-303 hereby waives the requirement for competitive bidding states that due to the need to get the flights completed before the leaves obstruct the view and in order to get new aerials to update maps used by E911 when dispatching emergency personnel, bidding is not practical. In order to protect the public health, safety, welfare, the City Council hereby waives bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described service from EFS GeoTechologies.
