A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO AMEND THE 2022 BUDGET, ESTABLISH AN EQUIPMENT DEPRECIATION FUND FOR 2022 AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF AUTOS & EQUIPMENT

WHEREAS, RES-21:297 adopted the 2022 budget for City of Jonesboro; and

 

WHEREAS, analysis of 2023 budget requests have determined that $1,898,010 in fleet auto purchases and $1,769,198 in equipment purchases, per the attached tentative schedule, have been submitted for budget consideration; and

 

WHEREAS, 2022 Operation and Maintenance expenditures through August 31, 2022 continue to show a favorable variance when comparing to the approved 2022 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, considering the nationwide shortage in vehicle inventory and in the equipment supply chain are ongoing and inventory availability is impaired for both in state and out of state inventories; and

 

WHEREAS, establishment of a combined total of $3,667,208 Equipment Depreciation Fund for 2022 will facilitate auto and equipment purchases to be accounted for in 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, the purchases will be made through State Bid or Vendor Co-op contracts.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

SECTION 1:  The City of Jonesboro 2022 Budget is amended for a total of $3,667,208 for the purchase of autos and equipment.

 

SECTION 2:  An Equipment Depreciation Fund for 2022 is established for a total of $3,667,208 to facilitate the purchase of autos and equipment, per the attached tentative schedule.

 

SECTION 3:  The subsequent purchases of autos and equipment will be made through State Bid dealers or Vendor Co-op contracts.
