RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS ACCEPTING AN IN-KIND LAND DONATION OF 24 ACRES +/- OF LAND AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH B & G LAND COMPANY

WHEREAS, B & G Land Company wishes to donate approximately 24 acres of land in memory of Beatrice Lynch Sloan to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and the City of Jonesboro wishes to accept said donation of property. A copy of the Quitclaim Deed and aerial map are attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, the property, located near 3255 Strawfloor Drive, contains both recreational and ecological value to the City of Jonesboro as a natural area and will have certain preservation restrictions placed upon the land in perpetuity as described in the property deed to ensure the property remains predominately in its current natural state; and

WHEREAS, the property shall be appropriately named Beatrice Park and the City of Jonesboro will construct entry signage signifying the namesake with funds from the Parks Department.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro accepts the in-kind land donation of approximately 24 acres from the B & G Land Company.

SECTION 2: The City of Jonesboro will name the above property Beatrice Park and adhere to preservation restrictions detailed and included as restrictions and covenants within the donation deed.

SECTION 3: The City of Jonesboro will construct entry signage for the park with funds from the Parks Department.

SECTION 3: The Mayor, Harold Copenhaver and City Clerk, April Leggett, are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement. Without limiting the foregoing, the Mayor is authorized and charged with the executing of any and all documents reasonably necessary to acknowledge the donation by B&G Land Company with taxing authorities, including but not limited ...
