A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ENTER INTO A REFUND REVIEW CONSULTING AGREEMENT WITH SALT GROUP OF ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, SALT Group of Arkansas agrees to perform an audit of the City’s tax records for the purpose of determining any tax savings; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an agreement to determine any tax savings, if any; and
WHEREAS, the review will include possible tax savings in the following areas:
Arkansas Gross Receipts (Sales) Tax
Arkansas Compensating Use Tax
Arkansas City/County Gross Receipts (Sales) or Use Taxes
Federal Excise Taxes (if applicable); and
WHEREAS, the cost to the City will be 35% (thirty-five percent) of funds recovered resulting from refund claims filed by SALT Group of Arkansas on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, all future tax savings as a result of SALT Group of Arkansas’ efforts will remain the exclusive domain of the City.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro shall accept the proposal and enter into an agreement with SALT Group of Arkansas.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
