RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO APPLY WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR 2022 BODY-WORN CAMERA POLICY AND IMPLEMENTATION (BWC PIP) GRANT

Whereas, the City of Jonesboro plans on applying for the FY 2022 Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation grant in the total amount of $13,980 with a local match requirement of $6,990 and a federal match of $6,990; and
Whereas, the FY 2022 BWC PIP provides funding to law enforcement agencies to support the implementation of body-worn camera programs; and
Whereas, this grant will support the purchase of 20 body cameras for the police department.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro will apply for $13,980 from the Department of Justice FY 2022 Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Grant
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this application.
