A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO GRANTS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO APPLY FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE (BJA) FOR FY 2022 BULLET PROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP

WHEREAS, applications are now being accepted for the FY2022 Bulletproof Vest Partnership; and
WHEREAS, the FY 2022 Bulletproof Vest Partnership is funded by the Department of Justice and has a cap of $40,000 of Federal Funds
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Police Department is seeking funding to go towards the purchase of 40 compliant armored vest with no accessories of which $39,704.66 is federally funded and $39,704.66 is the local match; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas supports the submission of the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance for the 2022 Bulletproof Vest Grant for $39,704.66 to go towards the purchase of 40 NIJ Compliant armored vests with no accessories.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this application.
SECTION 3: The Grants and Community Development Department is hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to submit all necessary documents for this federal grant.
