RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS REQUESTING CITY WATER AND LIGHT (CWL) TO PROVIDE A CONTRIBUTION TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF A NEW JONESBORO FIRE DEPARTMENT LADDER TRUCK

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase a new ladder truck for the Fire Department which will cost $1,230,771; and

WHEREAS, CWL has indicated a willingness to contribute $500,000 towards the purchase of the truck, and requires a resolution from the City Council to enable the contribution.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO THAT:

SECTION 1: CWL is hereby requested to contribute $500,000 out of its surplus funds to be used toward the purchase of a new Fire Department ladder truck.

SECTION 2: That Mayor Harold Copenhaver and City Clerk April Leggett are authorized to execute the necessary documents to effectuate this contribution.
