A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ACCEPT THE BID AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH POWERHOUSE ELECTRIC FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A GENERATOR FOR THE E-911 DEPARTMENT AND TO AMEND THE CITY 2020 BUDGET

WHEREAS, RES-19:201 adopted the 2020 Budget for the City of Jonesboro; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has issued bids for the purchase and installation of a replacement generator for the E-911 Department; and,

 

WHEREAS, funding for the execution of the contract shall come from the E-911 budget; and,

 

WHEREAS, the acceptance of the bid by Powerhouse Electric has been approved by the E-911 Governing Board as required by the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for Operation of 911 Emergency and Dispatch Center; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Powerhouse bid is the second lowest, but the lowest bid was not preferred since the Powerhouse provides a preferred Kohler generator with parts and service available locally; the work history for repair and service by Powerhouse is superior; and the completion date is a month sooner than the lowest bid.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

 

Section 1: The City of Jonesboro shall amend the 2020 Budget for E-911, accept the bid of $52,363.97 and enter into a contract with Powerhouse Electric.

 

Section 2.  Funding for the execution of the contract shall come from the state funding provided to the city from the ETS (Emergency Telephone Services) program.

 

Section 3.  The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
