RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO ESTABLISHING THE JONESBORO PUBLIC SAFETY SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE AND ESTABLISHING A DEDICATED FUND IN THE CITY BUDGET TO RECEIVE CONTRIBUTIONS AND OTHER FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF SUCH EQUIPMENT AND OTHER PUBLIC SAFETY NEEDS

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro needs to establish a committee to raise funds for public safety surveillance equipment, including contributions, grants, sponsorships, and other sources; and,

 

WHEREAS, there is a need to establish a dedicated fund in the city budget to receive contributions and other funds to be used for the purchase of such equipment and other public safety needs.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO THAT:

 

Section 1.  The Jonesboro Public Safety Surveillance Equipment Committee is hereby created which may range from five to twenty members nominated by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.

 

Section 2.  Members of this Committee shall have terms that will expire when the Committee’s responsibilities are satisfied.

 

Section 3.  There is a dedicated fund established in the city budget to receive contributions and other funds to be used for purchase of such surveillance equipment and other public safety needs.
