A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY DEED RESTRICTION FOR 2502 MARY JANE DRIVE, JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, ACQUIRED WITH FLOOD MITIGATION ASSISTANCE GRANT FUNDS

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, entered into an agreement with Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ARNC) for a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant for the acquisition and demolition of 2502 Mary Jane Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has acquired property using the FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant funds; and,
WHEREAS, the terms of the grant restricts the use of property to open space, in perpetuity, in order to protect and preserve natural floodplain values; and,
WHEREAS, to satisfy the grant, the City of Jonesboro must execute a Warranty Deed Restriction for this property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IF RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Warranty Deed Restriction for 2502 Mary Jane Drive as required by FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant agreement.
