AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE 2018 SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM (STEP) SUBGRANT AWARD CHANGE ORDER WITH THE ARKANSAS STATE POLICE; AND AMENDING THE 2018 BUDGET APPROPRIATING FUNDS NECESSARY TO THE PROCUREMENT THEREOF

WHEREAS, Resolution Number RES-17:142 authorized the Mayor and City Clerk to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary for the acceptance of the 2018 STEP Subgrant Award; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has been awarded an additional $10,000 to be used for Seat Belt Enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will match through in-kind services in officer's salaries and fringe benefits already appropriated in the budget; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance Number ORD-17:087 adopted the 2018 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro which will need to be amended in order to effectuate said change in the Federal Funds budget; and
WHEREAS, the budgeted expenditure increases will consist of the following:
09-955-0211-00 STEP Overtime Salaries 8,065.17
09-955-0284-00 Medicare Contributions 116.94
09-955-0205-00 LOPFI - City's Contribution 1,817.89
WHEREAS, the budgeted revenue increases will consist of the following:
09-955-0662-00 Federal Funding - DOJ 10,000.00
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro hereby accepts the Arkansas State Police's STEP Subgrant Award change order.
SECTION 2: The City hereby agrees to the terms and conditions of the grant as outlined in the change order attached hereto and made a part hereof, the execution of which by the Mayor and Chief of Police is hereby authorized.
SECTION 3: The annual 2018 budget for the City of Jonesboro is amended to provide for an increase in the Federal Funds budgeted expenditures of $10,000 and budgeted revenues of $10,000 to be used for seat belt enforcement.
