RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH R&B PAVING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SIDEWALK FROM HUMAN DEVELOPMENT CENTER TO MIRACLE LEAGUE FIELD

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has been awarded a Trails for Life Grant from the Department of Parks and Tourism in the amount of $15,751.68; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas approved via RESOLUTION 14:070 on June 5, 2014 to receive said funds and enter into agreement with the Department of Parks and Tourism to execute said project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro received estimates for designs and construction of the sidewalk with R&B Paving submitting the lowest estimate at $17,400; and
WHEREAS, after the designs invoice was paid for $1,600, a grant balance of $14,151.68 will cover the majority of the construction costs; and
WHEREAS, the balance of the construction costs will come from the Human Development Center in the amount of $3,248.32.
Therefore, be it resolved by City Council of the City of Jonesboro that:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro will enter into contract with R&B Paving; and
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City of Jonesboro City Council to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this contract.
