AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES FROM R-1 TO C-4 LOCATED SOUTH OF LOT 2 AND NORTH OF LOT 3 IN BLOCK B OF MCCARTY ADDITION, R-2 TO C-4 LOCATED ON LOTS 57 THROUGH 59 OF COLLEGE PLACE ADDITION AND R-2 TO C-4 LOCATED ON LOTS 71 THROUGH 73 AND PART OF LOT 70 IN THE COLLEGE ADDITION

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro to be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning district boundaries as follows:
(a) From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-4) of the property described as follows: The south 15.5 feet of Lot 2 and the north 39.5 feet of Lot 3 in Block B of McCarty Addition of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
(b) From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-4) of the property described as follows: Lots 57, 58 and 59 of College Place Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas less and except the east 5 feet and the west 2.5 feet of said lots and the north 44.1 feet of Lot 59. Subject to the land owner being required to place a fence of suitable material for use as a buffer zone if residents so request on the south property line.
(c) From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-4) of the property described as follows: Lots 71, 72 and 73 and south right-of-way of Lot 70 lying south of the south right-of-way of Arkansas Highway 1 and the west 120 feet of Lots 79, 80, 81 and 82 and that part of Lot 83 lying south of the south right-of-way line of Arkansas State Highway 1, all in the College Place Subdivision, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tracts of land described in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, that, therefore, an emergency exists and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, healt...
