RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON AN ALLEY BETWEEN DEWEY STREET AND CUBA AVENUE

Whereas, Bobby Watkins, Bill Yarbrough, Wanda Gebhardt, Mildred Smith, Raymond Mason, Jo Lynn Smith, Kay Hammock, Lola Koman, and Mrs. O.E. Alexander, petitioners have filed a Petition with the City Clerk for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas requesting that a ten foot alley running east and west between Dewey Street and Cuba Avenue to be vacated; and,
WHEREAS, the petitioners request that the east 135 feet approximately Schley Street at its intersection with Dewey Street be abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, the Petition has been presented to the city Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, Ark. Stat. Ann. 19-3826 requires two weeks public notice before the above alley and street could be vacated;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public that the above petitioners desire to vacate a ten foot alley running east and west between Dewey Street and Cuba Avenue and that petitioners desire to abandon the east 125 feet approximately of Schley Street from its intersection with Dewey Street and that this Petition will be heard before the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas on the 15 day of September, 1986 at 7:00 o'clock p.m. at City Hall, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
