RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE RANK STRUCTURE OF THE JONESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
body
WHEREAS, the Training Officer for the Jonesboro Police Department was established as a Captain position by Resolution number 1993:33, and

WHEREAS, evaluation of the current rank structure of the Jonesboro Police Department indicates that the duties of the position no longer require a Captain, and that Captain position could be better used elsewhere, and

WHEREAS, said evaluation further reveals the need for an additional Captain position to be used as Night Captain.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Jonesboro City Council amends the rank structure of the Jonesboro Police Department as follows:

The Captain position currently designated as Training Officer is hereby moved to the Criminal Investigation Division, and

An additional Captain position is hereby created to be used as Night Captain, and said position will take effect on November 1, 1996, for a total of 4 Captains in the department, and

An additional Sergeant position is hereby created, and said position will serve at present as the training officer for the Jonesboro Police Department.

PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 27th day of November, 1996.
