A Public Hearing was held at 6:30 p.m., December 17, 1984, at City Hall concerning closing of an alley in the Washington addition. No action was taken during this hearing by the Council.

A Public Hearing was held at 7:00 p.m., December 17, 1984, at City Hall concerning Revenue Sharing for 1985.

CITY COUNCIL MINUTES, DECEMBER 17, 1984

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session, Monday, December 17, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, and all Aldermen.

The minutes of December 3, 1984, were approved as mailed on motion by Mr. Park, seconded by Mr. Blevins. All voted aye.

Mr. Shelton offered the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE AUTHORIZATION TO ISSUE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS; AMENDING ORDINANCE # 1897, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 5TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1984, PERTAINING TO THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH BONDS; AUTHORIZING AND PRESCRIBING OTHER MATTERS PERTAINING THERETO; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

Mr. Hannah moved, seconded by Mr. Mays, to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on 2rd reading. All voted aye. Mr. Nix further moved, seconded by Mr. Hannah to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on 3rd reading. All voted aye. Mr. Mays moved, seconded by Mr. Hannah, to adopt the ordinance. All voted aye. Mr. Mays moved, seconded by Mr. Hannah to adopt the emergency clause. All voted aye. The ordinance was given the number 1903.

The following ordinance was on 3rd reading: (R-1 to R-3 on Matthews & Freeman)

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE OF ZONING BOUNDARIES

Mr. Shelton moved, seconded by Mr. Stricklin to adopt the ordinance. All voted aye except Mr. Evans and Mr. Province. Motion passed. The ordinance was given the number 1904.

Mr. Shelton offered the following ordinance: (Vacate alley off of Washington)
