AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:
From Commercial (C-3) to Residential (R-3) the following described property located in Craighead County, Arkansas;
Part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 36, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northwest corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 36; thence South on the 40-acre line 473.3 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence South 69°01’ East 288.7 feet; thence South 29°31’ West 85.0 feet; thence South 63°01’ East 50.0 feet to the right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 49- formerly Arkansas Highway No.39; thence South 51°04’ West along said right-of-way line 55.0 feet; thence North 61°31’ West 264.5 feet to the forth-acre line; thence North along the forth-acre line 107.1 feet to the point of beginning proper.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exit and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
