RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON A UTILITY EASEMENT AS REQUESTED BY NETTLETON BAPTIST CHURCH AND BETTY WATKINS

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a petition with the City Clerk of Jonesboro, Arkansas requesting that a fifteen (15') foot utility easement long the south side of Lot 2 of Nettleton Baptist Church Replat of Lots 15 through 21 and Lots 30 through 36 of Pardew's Addition as shown on the recorded plat in Book "B" on Page 74 of the Circuit Clerk's Office, Craighead County, Jonesboro, Arkansas. (See attached drawing.) be abandoned; and
WHEREAS, Arkansas Statute Annotated 19-3814 requires a two week public notice before the above utility easement can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public of the request by the property owners to vacate and abandon the unimproved said utility easement and this matter will be heard before the city council on October 1, 2001 at 6:20 p.m. at Cit Council Chambers, 900 W. Monroe, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
