AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of zoning district boundaries as follows:
1. From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of Lots 2 & 3 of Skyvue Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, located South of the South end of Madison Street, bounded on the North by South boundary of Belmont Addition, bounded on West by East boundary of Skyvue Drive-In Theater, and bounded on the East by Melton Brothers pasture lands.
2. From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 20, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, less and except the West 300 feet of said tract, and less existing street and highway rights of way, containing, less said exceptions, 30 ½ acres, more or less. This tract of land located at the corner of Caraway Road and Highland Drive.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
