RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN INDUSTRIAL ACCESS ROAD FROM EAST MATTHEWS AVENUE TO AIRPORT ROAD

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has determined that there is a need for an industrial road to be constructed from the industrial park to East Matthews; and,
WHEREAS, at the present time there is not sufficient traffic flow outlet from the industrial park to East Matthews Road and that such a road is desirous in order to relieve a congested traffic problem on Highway 63; and,
WHEREAS, sufficient right-of-way has been acquired to construct an industrial road from airport to East Matthews and that the city street authority has recommended to the Council the construction of such a road and bridges connected therewith in order to have a better access to the industrial park located on Airport Road.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Engineer and Mayor are authorized to cause to be constructed an industrial access road into the industrial park from East Matthews Road to Airport Road and to construct necessary bridges to cross ditches through this area; that the Council determines that the best and most efficient way for this road to be constructed is over and across lands as shown in the plat attached hereto and marked Exhibit “A”. That Exhibit “A” should become a part of this resolution as through set out herein word for word and line for line and that the Mayor and City Engineer are directed to construct the industrial road in accordance with Exhibit “A”.
