The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas met in regular session in City Hall, Monday night, October 4, 1965, at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Sammons, Griffin, Wilson, Bridger, Darling, Stallings, Williams, Pardew, Mays, Ledbetter and Snow.

Mr. Pardew offered the following resolution:

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTING OF A DEED CONVEYING THE NETTLETON WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT TO THE CITY WATER AND LIGHT PLANT

Mr. Mays moved with Mr. Sammons seconding the motion that the resolution be adopted. On calling the roll, all members voted aye and the motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1965:23.

Mr. Griffin offered the following resolution:

RESOLUTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON AN ALLEY LOCATED RUNNING WEST FROM LOT 4 OF BLOCK B OF EARL KIECH 2ND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

Mr. Snow made the motion, seconded by Mr. Pardew that the resolution be adopted. Roll was called and all voted aye. Motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1965:24.

Mr. Sammons offered the following ordinance for its first reading:

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF LANDS AND IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVING OF LANDS AND FACILITIES; PROVIDING A MEANS OF FINANCING THE PURCHASE BY ISSUANCE OF NOTES; PLEDGING INCOME AND PROPERTY TO THE PAYMENT OF SUCH INDEBTEDNESS, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO.

Mr. Mays moved with Mr. Sammons seconding the motion that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on its second reading. On the roll call, all voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Mays moved with Mr. Bridger seconding the motion that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. Roll was called and all members voted aye.
