AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954,  KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER  PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No, 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-1) the following described property:  (Carroll Carr)

 

Begin at the southeast corner of the NW 1/4, SE 1/4 of  Section 9, T14N, R3E; thence South 0°13' East along the east line of the SW 1/4, SE 1/4 of Section 9 aforesaid, 1134.3' to the northeasterly right-of-way  of  U.S. Hwy. #63 Bypass; thence along  said  right-of-way line as follows: North 47°36' West 212.4', North 46°11' West 496.8', North 41°22'  West 94.8' to the centerline of Harry Drive; thence North 0°58' West along said centerline of  Harry Drive 769.9'; thence South 88°13' West 30.0' to the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 88°13' West 496.0'; thence North 3°01' 49.2" West 665.0'; thence North 88° 13' East 165.0' thence South 3°01' 49.2" East 186.0'; thence North 88°13' East 348.2' ;  thence  South 0°58'   East  479.0'  to  the  point of  beginning proper, containing   6.252 acres and also known as Lots 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Carr South Addition.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
