AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO DISTRIBUTE FUNDS RECEIVED FROM FEMA FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF FLOOD RELATED DAMAGES RECEIVED BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO ON OR ABOUT MARCH 18, 2008.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas received flood damage to several drainage ditches or structures on or about March 18, 2008;
WHEREAS, FEMA has approved the reimbursement of $187,406.96 to the City of Jonesboro for repairs to these structures;
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro needs to properly distribute these funds to the appropriate accounts;
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION ONE: The sum of $26,643.07 is transferred from the FEMA reimbursement account to 02-100-0201-00 Street Fund - Salaries;
SECTION TWO: The sum of $9,951.82 is transferred from the FEMA reimbursement account to 02-100-0233-00 Street Fund - Rentals / Contracts;
SECTION THREE: The sum of $58,374.07 is transferred from the FEMA reimbursement account to 02-100-0231-00 Street Fund - Miscellaneous;
SECTION FOUR: The sum of $92,438.00 is transferred from the FEMA reimbursement account to 07-100-0235-00 Capital Improvement - Street Materials;
SECTION FIVE: There is hereby found and declared to be an immediate need for the distribution of said FEMA funds to the appropriate accounts. It is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall be in force and effect immediately upon and after its passage.
