AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2703, AMENDING THE COST FOR BRIDGE PANELS FROM CHOCTAW, INC. BY $11,421.36

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That due to not calculating sales tax, and miscalculating the amount of bridge panels needed, the Jonesboro Street Department of the City of Jonesboro needs to increase the amount paid to Choctaw, Inc.
SECTION 2: That said bridge panels to be obtained from Choctaw, Inc, Little Rock, Arkansas, will cost $90,421.36, rather than $79,352.00, for a difference of $11,421.36; and
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described bridge panels for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire these bridge panels, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
