AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, by amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows: From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:
All of Lot 40 of Cobb and Lee’s Survey of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 22, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, less the West one foot thereof and subject to a 35 foot highway right-of-way along the South side thereof, the general location of the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
This property is being rezoned subject to the owner of the property conveying to the City of Jonesboro sufficient right-of-way to constitute a 41 foot right-of-way from the centerline of Highway 18.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
