Special Finance & Administration Committee Meeting
May 9, 2003 @ 1:30 p.m.
Alderman Alec Farmer called the meeting to order for the purpose of selecting a firm to perform the city’s salary survey under the Arkansas Procurement of Professional Services Act. Aldermen Jim Hargis, Ann Williams, Darrel Dover and Alec Farmer were present. Mayor Hubert Brodell, City Clerk Donna Jackson, Finance Director Larry Flowers, Human Resource Director Suzanne Hackney and Asst. Fire Chief Butch Herring were present.
Condrey and Associates of Athens, GA, made the first presentation, The Hay Group of Dallas, TX, spoke next and Johanson Consulting, Inc. spoke last. Each firm was given approximately one hour. All three firms were asked if they could provide fringe benefits analysis as part of their work.
After the presentations, the committee ranked the firms. Ms. Hackney reported that Condrey had received 4 first place votes, and that Johanson had ranked second. Upon a motion by Alderman Dover and second by Alderman Hargis, the committee unanimously selected Condrey and Associates to perform the city’s salary survey per the requirements of the Professional Services Act.
The committee then discussed the negotiation committee. Upon a motion by Alderman Hargis and second by Alderwoman Williams, the committee unanimously selected Mayor Brodell to head the committee to be assisted by Alderman Dover and Ms. Hackney.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
