AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF STORM DAMAGE DEBRIS IN THE CITY OF JONESBORO; DECLARING AND EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS; The City of Jonesboro has awarded a contract to James Construction Company for the removal and disposal of storm damage debris in the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS; the City of Jonesboro has been designated as eligible for partial reimbursement under the Federal Emergency Management Act for the cost of the removal and disposal of storm drainage debris incurred under the contract to James Construction Company
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro Arkansas:
SECTION 1: The amount necessary, not to exceed $200,000 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Street Maintenance Fund for the removal and disposal of storm damage debris from the City of Jonesboro by James Construction Company.
SECTION 2: It is hereby found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that there is now an extreme urgency that the removal and disposal of storm damage debris be accomplished expeditiously in order to preserve the health and safety of the citizens of Jonesboro, Therefore, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force form and after its passage.
