RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS

WHEREAS, pursuant to directions of the City Council and to laws, Ordinances and Resolutions, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro has heretofore designated the Jonesboro Airport Commission to do all things related to management of the Jonesboro Airport and construction of improvements thereon, including extension and rebuilding of runways, and the City has provided for the financing thereof;
AND WHEREAS, said Airport Commission in accord with the powers heretofore established in it by action of the City Council, has advertised for and received bids for construction of Airport improvements, consisting of runways, taxiways, lighting, drainage, apron and other improvements, and that the public opening of bids at 2:00 p.m. , April 15, 1968, as advertised and according to law, the low bidder was found to be Ben M. Hogan & Company of Little Rock, Arkansas, with a bid of $858,294.48 which bid has been approved by the Airport Commission of the City of Jonesboro, and is subject to approval by the Federal Aviation Administration;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas, approve and confirm the action taken by the Airport Commission and declare that the same is within the power and jurisdiction of said Commission, according to ordinances and resolutions heretofore adopted by the City Council, and subject to approval of the Federal Aviation Administration the Airport Commission is authorized to bind the City of Jonesboro to a construction contract in accord with the plans, specifications and said bid.
