AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2013 ANNUAL BUDGET KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NUMBER O-EN-049-2012 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING FOUR (4) STREET MAINTENANCE WORKERS AND FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM THE STREET FUND TO THE STREET DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY FOR THE CONTINUITY OF SERVICES IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Jonesboro City Council adopted the 2013 annual budget, Ordinance Number O-EN-049-2012; AND
WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Finance Committee, to ensure sufficient staffing in the Street Department, that four (4) Street Maintenance positions be added at grade 106 and appropriate $38,000.00 from the Street Fund to the Street Department for such positions; and
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION ONE: The Four (4) Street Maintenance positions shall be added to the 2013 annual budget; and
SECTION TWO: That $38,000.00 is appropriated for such positions from the Street Fund to the Street Department;
SECTION THREE: It is further found and declared that an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the sufficient staffing in the Street Department and shall take effect from and after its approval.
